The INSIDER Summary:

  • Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth attended the premiere of "Thor: Ragnarok" together.
  • They were there to support Liam's brother Chris Hemsworth.
  • This was their first join appearance at a public event in a year and their first joint red carpet since 2013.

We all know that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth seem more in love than ever, but pretty much the only time we see them together is in their sweet and silly social media posts about each other.

But the famous couple finally made their red carpet return Tuesday night at the "Thor: Ragnarok" red carpet to support Liam's brother Chris Hemsworth.

Miley and Liam

The couple hasn't attended a public event together since October 2016, when they attended Variety's annual Power of Women luncheon. They haven't walked a red carpet together since August 2013, just before they broke up for almost three years before reuniting in 2016.

E! News asked Chris how it felt to have Miley and Liam, along with the rest of their family come and support him, and he said that it felt great to know they have his back, and felt like a family reunion.

"I think all of us travel a lot these days and work a lot around the world so any chance we get to gather together is a plus," Chris said.

Although it's great to see that Miley and Liam have taken the time to rebuild their relationship in private and take some time away as a couple, it's great to see them out and happy. Hopefully they won't go four years before attending another red carpet together.

I tried eating and exercising like Miley Cyrus for a week — and I'm surprised I'm still standing

i ate and exercised like Miley cyrus

  • Miley Cyrus follows a strict diet and has an active lifestyle that I tried to mimic for a week.
  • The singer is mostly vegan and practices pilates and Ashtanga yoga.
  • I was hungry, frustrated, and moody and it just wasn't worth it.

Miley Cyrus doesn't take herself too seriously: She's even called herself a "walking joke" in an interview with E!. But she does take her health seriously. The singer told Billboard magazine that she quit drinking and smoking pot earlier this year, and had started practicing veganism and yoga. As someone who also takes health seriously, I thought I'd be up to the challenge of living like Miley for a week — sans the on-stage twerking, of course.

But before I could take on the challenge, I had to learn a little bit more about Cyrus' lifestyle habits. According to POPSUGAR, Cyrus is a vegan for both ethical and health reasons. Additionally, as reported by Glamour, Cyrus has gone gluten-free, though the reason is unclear. Since this was a challenge, I decided to take on both eating habits.

Doing so, however, comes with some risk —mainly, nutritional deficiencies. Registered dietitian Rachael Hartley told INSIDER by email that if you're going to be vegan and gluten-free simultaneously, it's important that you're, "eating a wide variety of other foods in your diet, like nuts, tofu/tempeh, beans, other whole grains, vegetables and fats." She also wanted me not to "forget fun foods, like French fries or a vegan, gluten-free brownie that you enjoy just for pleasure."

But the diet was only half the battle. As far as exercise, the singer has spoken about her love for pilates and Ashtanga yoga, even posting pictures of her practicing on social media. Having practiced vinyasa flow-style yoga for several years, I was significantly less intimidated by taking on its "purer" relative, Ashtanga.

Peg Mulqueen, an Ashtanga instructor and founder of Ashtanga Dispatch, explained to INSIDER that Ashtanga is, by definition, a completely individual practice. There are six series to Ashtanga practice, each comprised of set asanas though most people only regularly practice the first, which is the healing series.

With a yoga mat in my possession and permission to eat French fries, I felt good about the challenge. Little did I know how hard it would be.

Day 1

Meal 1: Pumpkin Pie Green Smoothie

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment green smoothie

The week got off to a good start thanks to a strong coffee with almond milk coffee creamer and a vegan smoothie recipe from my vegan, gluten-free guide for the week, Minimalist Baker.

In the interest of full disclosure, the smoothie situation wasn't a difficult switch for me, because smoothies are often my breakfast of choice. Normally, however, I add collagen or protein powder to give it a little more staying power. Since collagen was obviously out and I couldn't verify whether or not my go-to protein powder is vegan, I had to go without.

Needless to say, I was hungry within an hour or two.

Workout 1

My first dalliance with Ashtanga could've gone better. I was used to vinyasa flow classes and quick HIIT routines, so the much slower pace was a big change.  It was frustrating at first, because I felt I couldn't seem to figure out how to "back breathe." But once I got used to it, the session went smoothly.

Meal 2: White Bean Kale Salad with Tahini Dressing

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment salad

This lunch was, quite honestly, one of the best things I ate all week. The lemon juice brightened everything up, and the flavors all balanced each other out. To be quite honest, I kind of wish I'd ended up making it more than once. Maybe if I had, I could have stuck with the diet longer.

Meal 3: Sun-Dried Tomato Chickpea Burgers

I made chickpea burgers for dinner, and need to stress how important it is to let the mixture to chill long enough before trying to cook the burgers. I ended up with what was essentially toasted chickpea mush — though a very well-flavored one.

Mush aside, the day wasn't too bad. I was expecting to be famished by bedtime. And although I was a little hungrier than usual, I was OK. I started to think that this wouldn't be as difficult as I'd thought before I started. I felt a tentative confidence start to creep in. It was premature, as I now know.

Day 2

Meal 1: Blueberry Almond Butter Smoothie

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment berry smoothie

I made a blueberry almond butter smoothie from Minimalist Baker for breakfast. The little shot of protein from the almond butter helped manage my hunger, unlike the smoothie from Monday.

Meal 2: Tomato and Vegetable White Bean Soup

This soup recipe is yet another winner, and one I'll definitely make again. It was full of flavor, and kept me energized throughout the day.

Plus, it taught me that I really like kale in soup. Like, really, really like kale in soup. I lead an exciting life, guys.

Workout

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment yoga 1

My muscles were slightly sore from all the stretching I'd done the day before, but was excited to go for another round of exercise. I often struggle to motivate myself to workout, but so far I didn't need my usual internal pep talks and negotiations. Already I was feeling calmer, stronger, and more capable, which was encouragement enough to keep going.

Meal 3: Portobello Mushroom Stir-Fry

As filling as my lunch was, it didn't keep me full to dinnertime. I was so hungry after making this meal that I couldn't waste any time taking pictures before devouring it. And even worse: it didn't keep me full. I was hungry again before bedtime.

This was likely due to the fact that I wasn't getting as much protein as normal, and my body was having a difficult time adapting to the change. Of course, it didn't help that I worked on an article about fast-food after dinner. Do you know how hard it is to look at burgers and milkshakes when you can't have them? It's pure torture.

In attempts to stave of hanger — something I would experience more than once during this experiment — I had to settle for eating an avocado with a spoon. It could've been worse, but I was already getting a little frustrated at having to continually think about what I could and couldn't eat.

Day 3

Meal 1: Immune-Booster Orange Smoothie

This week encouraged me to break out of my smoothie routine and try some new favorites, which is definitely one of the best things that happened this week.

Meal 2: Leftover Tomato and Vegetable White Bean Soup

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment soup

I took leftover soup to work today, and it was even better than it had been the day I made it. The potato pieces had soaked in the flavor from the spices, tomatoes, and vegetable stock.

Though I originally planned on bringing something different, I didn't want the big batch of soup to go to waste. I happily ate the whole bowl, and with each bite, I felt like I could make it through the week.

Meal 3: Red Lentil Pasta with a Mushroom Red Wine Sauce

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment pasta

I started to notice that I was pretty hungry after lunch. I'd feel fine one minute, then battle a stabbing pain in my stomach the next. It was difficult to manage and made my mood swing from pleasant and polite to grouchy and miserable in no time.

As I drove home, I kept thinking about how much better gluten and cheese would taste than whatever I had initially planned to make. But rather than give in, I guilted myself into making lentil pasta with a mushroom red wine sauce situation and topped it with parsley instead of Parmesan cheese. It was the only meal all week that I created without the guidance of a vegan, gluten-free blog.

Workout

This was also the day that I skipped my workout to watch my Cubs battle for a spot in the World Series. They lost, leading me to believe I should've opted for yoga and pilates instead.

Day 4

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment 2

Meal 1: Blueberry Almond Butter Smoothie

I started the day on a positive note with a blueberry almond butter smoothie I made the night before. I thought it would fuel me through the day, especially after I slept through my alarm and had to run to work. Little did I know it would be the last bright spot.

Meal 2: Leftover Tomato and Vegetable White Bean Soup

I took leftovers for lunch yet again, because I just couldn't be bothered to make anything new. I was frustrated by my constant hunger, and tired about thinking about what I was going to eat and categorizing food. The soup was good, but less satisfying than it had been in the days prior. I wanted something more exciting and couldn't shake the feeling that this soup would be so much better with some shaved Parmesan cheese on top. My resolve was starting to crack.

After a long day, sick of being hungry all week and feeling frustrated, I had pizza for dinner and I don't regret it.

Workout

miley cyrus diet exercise experiment yoga 2

Although the eating portion of my experiment hit a low that day, the exercise component was on the rise. This was the first day that I actually felt as though I had a handle on Ashtanga yoga and pilates; possibly the universe's way of balancing out with my diet failure.

What the professionals think:

Although it's clear that Cyrus eats the way she does for ethical and health reasons, it's not actually nutritionally necessary to adhere to such a strict diet in order to be healthy.

"Eating significantly less meat and animal foods reduces your impact on the environment and your risk for chronic disease, like diabetes, certain types of cancer, and heart disease," Hartley said. "But there's no need to go vegan unless you're ethically called to do so."

She added that certain nutrients found in animal foods — vitamin B12, omega 3 fats and iron — may be difficult to get in a vegan diet. If you're not considering a switch veganism due to an ethical calling, it's something you might want to consider as part of your decision-making process.

Unnecessarily going gluten-free can also potentially adversely impact your health, especially if you don't eat intentionally after cutting out gluten-containing wheat, rye, and barley. "It can be dangerous to unnecessarily avoid gluten," Hartley said. "Many gluten-free foods are more processed than their gluten-containing counterparts, and because rice flour is often used as a substitute, following a gluten free diet may increase exposure to heavy metals like arsenic and mercury."

A post shared by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on Jul 25, 2017 at 12:41pm PDT on

When it comes to working out, however, Miley might be onto something: Pairing yoga and pilates is a really good idea because they're complementary practices. Melody Ward, director of bridge training atClub Pilates, told INSIDER that the core strength needed for yogic inversions can be developed in pilates classes, while the flexibility you gain from yoga can similarly improve your pilates practice.

Pilates and yoga can both change the way you look, feel, and carry yourself, and they can both influence how you move through your life off the mat, so combining the two is basically a no-brainer. I felt stronger and more flexible as the week went on, which I definitely attribute to practicing yoga and pilates in conjunction with one another.

Overall takeaway

Because of the strict nature of Cyrus' diet, I noticed some former food issues resurface throughout the week. I started categorizing foods as "allowed" or "off limits," and said "I can't have that" every time I was offered something that was off the table. I've had a very complicated relationship with food in the past and some of these behaviors made me feel uneasy as the week went on. I ultimately decided it was best to quit the challenge then give into those behaviors.

But the whole challenge wasn't a waste. I stuck with the workout routine for the entire week, and noticed a major difference: not in my physical appearance, but my mental state. I felt calmer and less stressed than normal, so I plan to stick with a regular yoga practice and incorporate pilates into my routine moving forward.

Ultimately, I learned that listening to my body's cues and really taking care of myself is more important than following a set of guidelines. A few more vegan meals in my life will do me some good, but choosing a diet over my well-being will never truly be healthy.

Miley Cyrus says starring on 'Hannah Montana' did some 'extreme damage' to her psyche

  • Miley Cyrus recently opened up about how starring on "Hannah Montana" affected her psyche while growing up.
  • She said, "I think now that I'm older, now I realize that's a lot to put on a kid."
  • The singer notes that the effects were long-term and references the notoriety she gained after her album "Bangerz" came out.
  • But with her new album "Younger Now," Cyrus said she's "in a really different place."

"Hannah Montana" put Miley Cyrus on the map, with the fictional pop star going on to become a bonafide star in her own right. Still, the "Malibu" singer has made no secret of the fact that the experience had its drawbacks, as well, telling Elle back in September that she was probably the lowest paid person on the show. Now, the former Disney star is opening up about her childhood experiences on the show even further to CBS Sunday Morning, telling the outlet that her titular character did "extreme damage" to her psyche.

miley cyrus as hannah montanaLooking back on her as a Disney Channel darling, Cyrus, 24, admits that her life wasn't exactly normal. "I think now that I'm older, now I realize that's a lot to put on a kid," she says of her years on TV and touring. "It's a lot to put on a kid, to have them have to go get their makeup done, and also balance school, and also have me dress up in a wig as a kid is a little weird — it's a little 'Toddlers & Tiaras.'"

The effects have been lasting, with the engaged singer laughingly saying, "I think that's probably what's a little bit wrong with me now! I mark that up to doing some extreme damage in my psyche as an adult person."

She also gave some insight into her transitional "Bangerz" era, the notoriety from which she says helped her to feel at ease co-existing in a world with other celebs, such as Paul McCartney, whom she met while inducting Joan Jett into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"I, like, went and introduced myself [to Paul McCartney] with nipple pasties on. And he turned bright red. Like he looked so red, and that I really liked," she said, adding, "I would be so freaked out to meet Paul McCartney, that then he was freaked out to meet me! So the roles just reversed."

As for the new, more subtle musical style seen on her latest work, "Younger Now," Cyrus told CBS the reason for the album and song title is due, in part, to an awakening in the last few years. "I'm in a really different place," she said. "But I feel like all the people that I've ever been are just sitting right here in, you know, inside. And I feel those ways, too."

"In the beginning [of the song 'Younger Now'] it says, 'Feels like I just woke up, like all this time I've been asleep. Even though it's not who I am, I'm not afraid of who I used to be.' And then it says, 'No one stays the same.' Everything we've sat here and talked about [during the interview] is what that song means."

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were seen wearing wedding bands so naturally fans are freaking out

  • Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have sparked a number of wedding rumors lately.
  • The most recent comes after the two were seen wearing wedding bands in Tybee Island.
  • This is where the two met while filming "The Last Song."
  • Fans are already celebrating, even though the news has yet to be confirmed.

Thanks to their break ups and make ups, fans of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been on an emotional roller coaster. But recent reports of a wedding between the singer and actor may put a (happy) end to the ride.

InStyle reported that Cyrus and Hemsworth were seen wearing wedding bands last weekend. Cyrus was reportedly wearing a diamond band in addition to the engagement ring Hemsworth gave her in 2012, which she started wearing again when they reconnected last year, according to Glamour.

And if the additional bling wasn't enough to get the rumors flowing, the two were seen wearing their new accessories in the place they first met. According to InStyle, the two were photographed jet skiing in Tybee Island. This Georgia island holds a special meaning for the couple as it's where they met (and presumably fell in love) while filming "The Last Song."

Naturally, the combinations of the rings and location caused fans to freak out with joy.

Of course, their celebrations may be a bit premature. Back in September, Cyrus told The Sun that she wouldn't be marrying Hemsworth any time soon

"I don't envision marriage. I'm 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do [before I get married]," she said. "I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it's possible to get even happier, I'll take it."

But hey, plans change all the time. If Cyrus and Hemsworth did get married, let's raise a glass to celebrate. And if not, we have something to look forward to.

  • Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been sporting bling on their ring fingers, causing fans to speculate that the two got married.
  • Cyrus was a musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" this week and wore two rings.
  • Fans spotted Liam's ring as well.
  • But this isn't the first time the two have worn the rings.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have sparked some speculation that they got secretly married after stepping out with rings on their fingers in late October, and the engaged couple continued to fan the flames on "Saturday Night Live."

Cyrus, 24, performed two songs as the musical guest on Saturday's episode of the NBC sketch show. Her ring finger was especially noticeable during "I Would Die For You," her second performance of the night.

miley cyrus

Hemsworth, 27, surprised fans with a cameo in a "The Price Is Right" sketch earlier in the night, but his left hand was covered throughout the whole thing. But at the end of the evening, as everyone clapped and said good night, a band could be spotted on his ring finger.

Some eagle-eyed fans spotted the rings on their fingers.

Now, this isn't the first time both have stepped out with bling on their ring fingers.

Back in August 2017, Hemsworth was spotted with the gold band on his finger, but sources told E! News that the ring was worn as a "'promise' to Miley." As for Cyrus' rings,  she began wearing her engagement ring that Hemsworth first proposed with in 2012 after the two reconciled in 2016. She was spotted with a second ring on the finger in October, according to Glamour.

But Cyrus has spoken about her views on marriage, and doesn't seem too keen on tying the knot just yet.

In a recent interview with The Sun on Sunday, according to a report from The Daily Mail, Cyrus said she wants to wait a bit before getting married.

"I don't envision marriage. I'm 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more," she said. "I have too much living to do [before I get married]. I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it's possible to get even happier, I'll take it."

'Rude!': Miley Cyrus shut down pregnancy rumors with the perfect photo

miley cyrus pregnancy rumors

  • Miley Cyrus posted a pre-birthday photo to Twitter and Instagram Wednesday night.
  • People mistook this for a pregnancy announcement, and started celebrating.
  • The singer immediately responded to the rumors with a Tweet calling people "rude" for making such an assumption.

Miley Cyrus can't do much without sparking some sort of rumor. Case in point: a recent pre-birthday photo that had people claiming the singer is pregnant.

On Wednesday, Cyrus shared a pre-birthday photo of herself on Twitter and Instagram. In the photo, the 25-year-old is leaning back and placing her hands on her stomach. She then captioned the photo, "So close to b-day time! Stoked for a day full of Tofurkey & loved ones! Ain't it ironic? #VeganTurkeyBaby."

So close to b-day time! Stoked for a day full of Tofurkey & loved ones! Ain't it ironic? #VeganTurkeyBaby

A post shared by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on Nov 22, 2017 at 7:48pm PST on

The pose — one often associated with pregnancy — and use of the word "baby" in the caption was clearly a deadly combination. People immediately started sharing the well wishes and thoughts on the news.

"PREGO!!!! @mileycyrus PREGO!!!!," one user wrote.

"It seems that you are pregnant 🤰 🙃," another user wrote.

One user asked "are you pregnant," while another asked, "When are you due?"

Not one to keep her thoughts to herself, Cyrus shared a follow-up photo Thursday. And she wasn't holding back.

"RUDE!!! Not pregnant just eating a s--- ton of tufurkey," she wrote alongside a photo that pointed out her "bump."

And Cyrus is right — it is rude.

People have a horrible habit of openly commenting on women's bodies and trying to "spot" celebrity baby bumps. She's wearing something baggy? Must be to cover the baby bump. She doesn't have a flat stomach? Must be because of the growing fetus. She put her hands on her stomach? Must be to draw attention to her future child. Not only is it a form of body shaming, but it puts even more pressure of women to feel they have to fit a certain mold.

So can we just, you know, stop?

  • Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after its release in June 2013.

Pop singer Miley Cyrus is facing a $300 million copyright infringement lawsuit from the Jamaican songwriter Michael May, who claims that Cyrus' 2013 hit single "We Can't Stop" closely resembles a song he wrote in 1988, Reuters reports

May, whose stage name is Flourgon, said in the suit that Cyrus' song took "about 50 percent" from his song "We Run Things"— including musical elements and the phrase,"We run things / Things no run we," which Cyrus sings in a chorus as, "We run things / Things don’t run we."

Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after its release in June 2013. May's "We Run Things" reached No. 1 in his home country, Jamaica, in 1988.

In the suit, filed at the U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday, May's lawyers said that Cyrus' song "owes the basis of its chart-topping popularity to and its highly-lucrative success to plaintiff May’s protected, unique, creative and original content."

In addition to seeking $300 million in the case, May is also seeking a halt to subsequent sales and performances of Cyrus' song.

Cyrus' representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fans accused Miley Cyrus of being a 'hypocrite' for dancing to rap music after denouncing it

miley cyrus

  • On St. Patrick's Day, Miley Cyrus posted a video of her dancing to Offset‘s “Ric Flair Drip."
  • Earlier this year, Cyrus denounced hip-hop's vulgarity saying "I am so not that."
  • Fans think it is hypocritical of her to embrace hip-hop on Twitter after distancing herself from it.

Miley Cyrus is no stranger to cultural appropriation accusations. A few years ago, amid her obsession with twerking and partying, the 25-year-old singer was known as the poster child for cultural appropriation, with many accusing her of appropriating hip-hop and rap culture to advance her career.

After a recent break to go country, Cyrus is at the center of a cultural appropriation controversy again—however, this time, the backlash is even more heated given Cyrus’s recent comments denouncing the hip-hop and rap community.

Over the weekend, the “Malibu” singer posted a Twitter video of her dancing in a leprechaun onesie to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The video featured Cyrus nodding and writhing to Offset‘s “Ric Flair Drip.” “RFD,” Cyrus captioned the tweet, tagging Offset and his fiancé, Cardi B.

The video might’ve paled in comparison to Cyrus’s previous, more explicit culturally appropriative acts, until Cardi B and Offset fans pointed out that the former Disney Channel condemned hip-hop and rap music in a Billboard interview less than a year ago.

‘But I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [‘Humble’]: “Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks.” I love that because it’s not “Come sit on my d---, suck on my c---,'” Cyrus told Billboard in May 2017. “I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my c---’—I am so not that.

Given Cyrus’s recent comments, hip-hop and rap fans weren’t happy with Cyrus dancing to a song by Offset, who raps lyrics and creates music similar to the songs she was denouncing. Several also called Cyrus a “hypocrite” for distancing herself from the genre, but still enjoying it. Many also accused Cyrus of leaning into rap and hip-hop culture only when her career is floundering.

As of yet, Cyrus hasn’t responded to the controversy. But given her history of ignoring and not taking accountability for her cultural appropriation, we don’t expect much.

Miley Cyrus withdraws apology for a 'near-nude' photo that caused controversy 10 years ago

  • Miley Cyrus posed for a nearly nude photo for a Vanity Fair interview in 2008.
  • The photo, taken by Annie Leibovitz, showed Cyrus' bare back as she held a blanket.
  • Cyrus (then 15 years old) apologized for the photo, saying she was "embarrassed."
  • Now she's retracting that sentiment on Twitter.
  • "IM [sic] NOT SORRY," she wrote while sharing the old New York Post cover with her apology.
  • You can see the photo and Cyrus' tweet below.

Miley Cyrus has no regrets about posing nearly nude for Annie Leibovitz in 2008. The singer tweeted a photo of a New York Post cover from 10 years ago, on which the headline read "MILEY'S SHAME."

On the cover, Cyrus is quoted apologizing for a photoshoot she did with Leibovitz and Vanity Fair Magazine.

"I feel so embarrassed," Cyrus' Post apology says. "I never intended for this to happen."

But now Cyrus has more direct sentiment to share: "IM [sic] NOT SORRY. F--- YOU."

Cyrus was 15 years old when she posed for the photo. You can see the section from Cyrus' Vanity Fair feature below, where the photo by Leibovitz appeared.

The interviewer, Bruce Handy, asked Cyrus if this pose made her "anxious." Here's what the image caption says:

"Um, was Cyrus — or Disney — at all anxious about this shot? 'No, I mean I had the big blanket on. And I thought, this looks pretty, and really natural. I think it's artsy.'"

The photo sparked some backlash among her younger fanbase (and their parents). At the time, Cyrus was best known for her Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana."

As reported by Mashable, Cyrus issued a full apology at the time:

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

Cyrus has since come a long way in her career. On the same day she took back her apology for the above photo, the singer tweeted more throwback photos.

Cyrus, now 25 years old, released her sixth studio album last fall. She's engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth (some fans even think they're already married). She has also embraced activism after seeing how her large platform can affect many young people.

  • On "Jimmy Kimmel Live," singer Miley Cyrus explained her "F--- YOU" tweet about a 10-year-old New York Post front page headline.
  • In a Vanity Fair feature, Cyrus posed for famous photographer Annie Leibovitz with her bare back to the camera.
  • The photo caused controversy at the time, and Cyrus apologized.
  • But now Cyrus is taking back the apology, and says someone at the time made her issue that statement.
  • "But you know what, that's why I don't do what people tell me to anymore, because that idea sucked," she told Kimmel.
  • Cyrus also said the atmosphere during the photoshoot wasn't sexual at all, but that "everyone else's poisonous thoughts and minds" turned it into something it wasn't.
  • Watch the full interview segment from "Jimmy Kimmel Live" below.

In a new interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Miley Cyrus further explained the story behind a recent tweet aimed at the New York Post and others who "shamed" her over a photoshoot 10 years ago.

Back in 2008, when Cyrus was 15 years old, she posed for renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz during a Vanity Fair shoot. One photo — showing Cyrus' bare back as she held a blanket up to her chest — caused a stir among her Disney fan base and others.

She issued an apologetic statement at the time, but now Cyrus is taking it all back.

"I think I did [apologize], but I'm sure someone told me to," Cyrus told Kimmel. "But you know what, that's why I don't do what people tell me to anymore, because that idea sucked."

You can see the photo above and on the Vanity Fair website, Cyrus described being on the photoshoot set that day. She said her little sister was there, and sitting with Leibovitz while snapping photos.

"There was nothing sexualized about this on set," Cyrus said. "It was everyone else's poisonous thoughts and minds that ended up turning this into something that it wasn't meant to be. So actually I shouldn't be ashamed — they should be."

  • Liam Hemsworth recently filmed himself pranking Miley Cyrus by sneaking around and startling her.
  • This is apparently a favorite pastime of Hemsworth, who was documented doing the same thing just weeks before.
  • This indicates that both Hemsworth and Cyrus consider their partner to be their best friend, which is vital to the success of long-term relationships.

Apparently, Liam Hemsworth likes nothing more than scaring the heck out of his long-term partner, Miley Cyrus. At least, that's what a recent video will have you believe. Hemsworth recent shared a video on Instagram of himself sneaking around the corner and spooking Cyrus with loud noises.

You can check out the video here:

This is not the first time that Hemsworth has pranked Cyrus. A few weeks ago, Teen Vogue reported on Hemsworth ruining Cyrus's selfie video by startling her so much that she dropped her phone.

Of course, playing jokes on your partner isn't the worst thing. In fact, doing so can indicate that you think of your partner as your best friend, which research shows is an important way to ensure that a relationship is successful. Case in point — Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who say they are best friends and regularly prank and troll one another on social media. And Cyrus, for what it's worth, has also referred to Hemsworth as her best friend before:

Happiest birthday to my very best friend on the entire planet! I ❤️ u!

  • Chris Hemsworth shared a video of himself jamming out to Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" while watching his three kids.
  • Most loved it, calling Hemsworth's dog the breakout star of the video.
  • Others thought it may be awkward since the song is reportedly about Hemsworth's brother, Liam. It was released after he and Cyrus broke up. The two got back together in 2017.
  • But there are no weird feelings.
  • Cyrus herself reshared the video on Twitter and called it "Epic" on Instagram.

Chris Hemsworth traded in his Thor armor and cape for a hoodie and sweats to jam out with his kids.

The "Avengers: Infinity War" actor shared a sweet video of him busting a few moves to Miley Cyrus' 2013 hit "Wrecking Ball" while on dad duty Wednesday night.

If you need a pick-me-up for the week's end, this will do the trick.

There's a lot to unpack in the 25-second clip as the kids are heard singing along and Hemsworth dances and mouths the words to Miley's song. The family dog, Spinee, tries to join in as well, but ultimately decides she's not a fan of Hemsworth's dancing.

"What started as a ground breaking music video ended in a savage attack by a cowardly K9. Never work with Kids or Animals. #wreckingball #wreckingdog #daddydaycare #murderonthedancefloor @mileycyrus @liamhemsworth," Hemsworth captioned the video.

People are having a lot of reactions to the video.

Mostly, fans are loving Hemsworth for being the ultimate dad.

Then there were the reactions to the real break-out star of the video, Hemsworth's dog.

But after thinking about it more, others thought it was a bit of an awkward song choice. Cyrus released the song following her breakup to Hemsworth's brother, Liam.

An expletive-filled rant before a performance in 2013 led many to believe the song was about him. (Cyrus has claimed it's not.)

The two got back together in 2016 and are currently engaged.

Cyrus seems more than OK with her future brother-in-law's taste in music.

She was one of a few celebrity friends to give the video her approval calling it, "Epic."

The singer also shared her love for the video on Twitter with a few heart emojis.

Tyrese, "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds, and "Avengers: Infinity War" co-star Josh Brolin also loved Hemsworth's moves.

Now, if only we could get all of them together for an encore performance.

Bhujapidasana pose of the day 💙💙💙
